The suspect reportedly had a Nazi flag

Police did not say what Kandula’s alleged motives were. However, WUSA9, a local TV news site, posted a picture of a Nazi flag on the sidewalk after the incident, and The Washington Post, citing a federal official, confirmed that the flag had come from the truck.

A law enforcement official told NBC News that while being taken into custody, the suspect made threatening statements about the White House. No weapon or explosive was found inside the truck, the official said.
