Trinamool Congress MPs attacked in Tripura Agartala News – Times of India

Kolkata: Two Trinamool Congress MPs Dola Sen and Aparupa Poddar were attacked on Sunday when they were on their way to unfurl the national flag at Thyram in Tripura.
Their cars were vandalized and MPs attacked and a secretary of Dola Sen suffered a head injury as bricks were thrown at his car.

Sen and Poddar were returning to Kolkata for the treatment of the injured person on Sunday evening. The MP claimed that Aparupa Poddar’s mobile and bag were also snatched.
Rajya Sabha member Dola Sen said, “After getting information about the attack on us, CM Mamta had called to get information. He said that this jungle raj will end soon. We are returning to Kolkata by evening flight for treatment.”
Dola condemned the attack and said it showed that BJP The government is afraid of Trinamool. He said that bricks were thrown randomly in the presence of police. He alleged that the police remained inactive which helped the attackers. The MP said that they also hit the car with bamboo and sticks.
Trinamool MP And the leaders staged a sit-in in Agartala to protest the attack on two MPs. Trinamool It is believed that Khela Hobe Day will be organized on Monday at various places in Tripura. With the assembly elections due in 2023, the Trinamool is targeting Tripura to make its presence felt.
Trinamool Congress leader Kunal Ghosh criticized the Tripura government and termed it as goonda raj rule as two women MPs were attacked on Sunday. Ghosh said: “There is no freedom in Tripura. The BJP is running goonda-raj. Tripura is in a state of emergency.”
Former MP Ghosh said that Aparupa Poddar’s bag and other essentials have been snatched. “TMC supporters are being continuously hunted down and beaten up. They are seriously injured. what is the fault AITC MP Dola Sen and AITC MP Aparupa Poddar? Two women MPs on their way to celebrate Independence Day and hoist the national flag were brutally attacked. Is this the state of democracy in Tripura?” Ghosh asked.
– “Many I-PAC employees were detained. They were in Tripura to conduct a survey. Why did BJP use police to detain them? What are they afraid of,” questioned Ghosh.
Earlier, Trinamool’s national general secretary Abhishek Banerjee’s car was attacked on its way to the Tripureshwari temple. Bengal CM Mamta Banerjee had claimed that the Union Home Minister had given instructions to attack Abhishek.
The BJP, however, denied the attack and claimed that the Trinamool was trying to create drama in Tripura to gain sympathy.
