Tri-services probe into CDS chopper crash to be completed in 15 days: Government sources

Government sources on Thursday said the tri-services investigation into the CDS chopper crash is expected to be completed within the next two weeks. The investigation is being led by Air Marshal Manvendra Singh, an officer of the Indian Air Force (IAF) and the country’s best helicopter pilot, and a Brigadier-rank officer each from the Indian Army and Indian Navy.

Top government sources told ANI, “The statements of the witnesses are being recorded by the investigation team, which includes those present on the ground near the accident site in Tamil Nadu’s Nilgiris district. The team is expected to complete its proceedings in the next two weeks.” ” ,

The investigation teams started their work the very next day after the incident. He said statements are being recorded and in one or two cases some people have changed the account of events.

General Bipin Rawat, his wife Madhulika Rawat and 12 other army officers were traveling in the unfortunate Mi-17V5 helicopter, which crashed minutes before landing at the Defense Services Staff College in Wellington, carrying all passengers and crew on 8 December. The team had died.
