Tremors Felt In Noida, Punjab, J&K After Earthquake Of 5.7 Magnitude Hit Afghanistan

Strong tremors were felt from Noida, Punjab to Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday morning. The National Center for Seismology said that the tremors were a result of an earthquake near the Afghanistan-Tajikistan border.

The earthquake was of 5.7 magnitude on the Ritcher scale. It is the second earthquake in the last 24 hours. Uttarakhand too faced an earthquake of 3.8 magnitudes at 3 am on Saturday.

“That was a very strong earthquake. 7.3 on the Richter Scale, 189 KM WSW of Islamabad, Pakistan as per National Center for Seismology,” tweeted Srinagar Mayor, Junaid Azim Matt.

People felt the tremors of the earthquake in some parts of North India too.

The magnitude of the earthquake was measured at 5.7 on the richter scale.

According to the report of Geo News, an earthquake of 5.9 magnitude struck Islamabad, Rawalpindi and several other cities of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Saturday. According to the National Earthquake Monitoring Centre, Islamabad, the epicenter of the quake was in the Hindu Kush region of Afghanistan at a depth of 210 km.

There is no news of the loss of life or property due to the earthquake. But due to the tremors of the earthquake, panic spread among the people.
