The influx of tourists has started increasing in the capital Shimla due to the festival season. A large number of tourists from outside states are reaching Shimla. Trains reaching Shimla via Kalka-Shimla Heritage Railway track have been booked in advance for the next one week. The occupancy in city hotels has also increased to 70 per cent. There are 6 trains running between Kalka – Shimla. Out of these, 5 trains are on more than 70% advance booking for the next one week.

Railway officials also say that tourists are now reaching Shimla in large numbers. In such a situation, advance booking of trains is going on. Not only this, a large number of tourists are also reaching Shimla by road. Talking about the last 48 hours, around 8000 vehicles have entered Shimla from Shoghi Barrier to Shimla. The occupancy of hotels in the city has also increased by 20 per cent as compared to the previous week. On Sunday too, the movement of tourists on the Ridge Maidan and Mall Road was more than before. Crowds of tourists gathered in Kufri, Naldehra, Mashobra. In this way tourism business in Himachal has started gaining momentum once again.

A lift is operated by the Tourism Development Corporation to connect the circular road with the mall road. With a ticket of Rs 10, the lift takes the tourists to the mall road. There is a lot of crowd here too. There has been a lot of crowd in the last 2 days also, around 18 thousand people have used this lift. In such a situation, it can be estimated that the influx of tourists has increased in Shimla. The occupancy in hotels has now reached 70 per cent.
