A survey by an environmental group has shown that train fares are up to 30 times more expensive than air tickets on long-distance journeys in many European countries.

A study by Greenpeace compared the price of tickets on long-distance trains and flights and found that train fares on 112 long routes were almost twice as much as air tickets and in some cases up to 4 times higher on different dates.

It found train tickets from the UK to Europe on the famous Eurostar cost up to four times more than flight tickets. Air tickets were cheaper on 71 percent of routes in Spain.

According to the report, train tickets are the most expensive compared to flights in the UK, Belgium, France, Italy and Spain.

The report further studied that compared to air tickets booked during the last minute from London to Barcelona, ​​there was an increase of almost 29.6 times in ticket prices.
