Toyota C-HR crossover unveiled: Price, features and much more!

New Delhi: Japanese automaker Toyota Kirloskar Motor showcased its second generation Toyota C-HR in December 2022 through the Prologue concept. Now, the images of its production model have been released. This new crossover has been designed and developed for Europe, and its sales are expected to start in the first quarter of 2024. The 2024 Toyota C-HR gets significant development in terms of design and powertrain as compared to the concept model. It will feature a dual-tone color scheme and 20-inch alloy wheels while retaining the sporty character of its predecessor. The integration of the sensors, cameras and headlight washer has been improved, and the aerodynamics have also been enhanced.

Dimensions:
The new 2024 Toyota C-HR will measure between 4360 mm to 4370 mm in length, 1830 mm in width and 1558 mm to 1564 mm in height. It is relatively large, similar to the previous model, with no significant change in overall length. Its wheelbase is 2640 mm.

2024 Toyota C-HR will come equipped with features like connected 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, 12.3-inch full digital instrument cluster, JBL sound system in higher trims, HUD (head-up display), panoramic sunroof. and 64-color ambient lighting. The new GR Sport Premier Edition will get the sporty red treatment with GR badges on the inside and outside.

Powertrain:
In Europe, the 2024 Toyota C-HR will be available exclusively with a hybrid powertrain. It will offer an optional AWD system with a plug-in hybrid with a 1.8L engine producing 140 bhp and a 2.0L hybrid producing 198 bhp with a FWD setup.

Toyota’s future plans for India:
Toyota Kirloskar Motor currently has no plans to launch the C-HR in India. This year the company plans to introduce a micro SUV based on the Maruti Suzuki Fronx. The Toyota Fronx variant is expected to get some cosmetic changes, possibly inspired by the European-spec Toyota Yaris Cross. In addition, the company is developing a 7-seater SUV based on the TNGA-C modular platform, which will be similar to the Innova Crysta. Apart from this, Toyota is preparing to launch the next generation Toyota Fortuner in the future.
