Torture in Bangladeshi worship pavilion to shame Hasina, finger on Jamaat-e-Islami

The violence at Durga Puja Mandap in Upper Bengal has also added to the heat in the political arena of Upper Bengal. In such a situation, this time the Bangladesh government has raised its finger on the allegation of communal violence against Jamaat-e-Islami. The government claims that the Jamaat carried out the attack to malign the image of Sheikh Hasina’s government.

According to diplomats in Dhaka and New Delhi, the main motive behind the attack on the pavilion and temple in Comilla on the afternoon of 13 October was to embarrass the Bangladeshi government and force India to respond.

It is learned that various temples were attacked in Hajiganj in Chandpur, Banshkhali in Chittagong, Shibganj in Chapainwabganj and Pekua in Cox’s Bazar. Many pictures have also come out which shows that the idol of Durga has been vandalized. Pictures of those idols being vandalized spread on social media. Most of the attacks took place in the Comilla district adjoining Tripura in the eastern part of Bangladesh.

The Bangladesh government has said that the incidents are being taken seriously. And paramilitary forces have been deployed in the areas where violence has taken place. Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan has demanded action against the culprits. “The authorities have been directed to bring the criminals to justice,” he told reporters.
