Senior executives of electric car maker Tesla are likely to visit India this week to meet government officials to deepen the supply chain as the company looks to explore markets outside China.

According to a Bloomberg report, senior Tesla executives are planning to meet PMO officials to discuss sourcing components locally for Tesla models.

Tesla earlier went ahead with its bid to enter the Indian market but cited high import taxes among other reasons for not finalizing things.

Tesla CEO Elon Musk criticized India’s high import taxes and its electric-vehicle policies.

India had also asked Musk not to sell cars made in China.
