Tollywood singers unite to pay tribute to SP Balasubramaniam

Leading singers of the Telugu music industry have come together to pay tribute to the late SP Balasubramaniam.

Singers SP Shailja, SP Charan, Mano, RP Patnaik, Revanth, Sri Ram Chandra, and Satya Yamini have shot for a special episode titled Balu Surganiki Swara Rachna with music director Mani Sharma.

Shailaja, sister of the late legendary singer, told IANS: “I am very happy to be a part of this beautiful program not only as her sister but also as a person trying to learn many things from her.”

“Charan (SP Balasubramaniam’s son) and I shared some memorable moments that we had with Balu Garu and so did others. It doesn’t surprise me how many people he has touched with his music.”

Since his singing debut in 1966 with the Telugu film “Sri Sri Sri Maryada Ramanna”, Balasubramaniam has received several National Awards and has recorded over 40,000 songs in 16 Indian languages. Singer superstar Rajinikanth became Kamal’s on-screen voice. Haasan and Salman Khan have worked in many films.

The special episode was shot on the occasion of World Music Day and will air soon on Zee Telugu.
