The Japanese government has also reported the cancellation of the Olympic torch relay in popular public places. The Japanese government has said that all events related to the Olympic torch relay will now be held at a private flame-lighting ceremony in Tokyo. This event will start from Friday this week. People and viewers in Japan will be able to watch the event live online.

The Olympic Torch Relay Has Already Been Stopped

This is not the first time that the Olympic torch relay has been affected due to COVID-19. The nationwide Olympic torch relay was disrupted in March this year. The Olympic torch relay was previously forced to be removed from public roads in March 2021.

Some decisions have not yet been taken regarding the organization of the Tokyo Olympics. It is not yet decided whether spectators will be allowed into the stands during the Olympic Games. This year the Olympic Games are likely to be held without spectators. The entry of foreign spectators was banned even before the announcement of the Olympic Games.

However, the organizers of the Olympic Games are keeping an eye on the whole situation regarding Kovid-19. If there is a decline in the number of COVID-19 cases in the next few days, local spectators may be allowed to visit the stands following the COVID-19 protocol.
