India’s 15-member shooting contingent on Saturday entered the sports village along with support staff ahead of the Olympics starting July 23. The Indian team was in Croatia in early May for training and competition and flew from Zagreb to Tokyo.

Indian Olympic Association chief Narinder Batra confirmed the shooters have reached Tokyo. Most of the athletes will leave for Tokyo from the national capital on Saturday night on a chartered flight.

The shooting contingent, including some of the country’s biggest medal prospects at the Tokyo Games, left for Zagreb on a charter flight on May 11 for the final stages of Olympic preparations.

The team, however, could not set the stage on fire at the recently concluded ISSF World Cup in Osijek, Croatia, where it won one gold, one silver and two bronze medals for 10th place, no good considering the shooters’ excellent result. Result not found. run recently.
