SWAT team on the spot
Delhi Police on Sunday conducted a mock anti-terror drill at Select City Mall to test the preparedness of the police for worse times.
“This mock drill was conducted to check vigilance, preparedness, reaction time and coordination of various agencies in case of any incident,” the Delhi Police said.
In a video shared by the police department, the Delhi Police shows a terror situation where two men wearing black masks enter a crowded mall and shoot down a security guard. Their demand is that everyone including the employees should lie down on the ground with their faces covered.
Within minutes, the Delhi Police, Bomb Disposal Squad along with their sniffer dogs, fire trucks and ambulances reach the spot. Covering the perimeter of the mall, the SWAT team is seen parading the attackers outside the mall. A medic team then enters the premises to handle the situation and help any injured.
Mock drills are conducted at regular intervals to ascertain the level of preparedness in such emergency situations and for better coordination among police, ambulances and other agencies.
