CHENNAI: Concerned for the well being of their co-workers, hundreds of workers Foxconn Technology India Private Limited protested on Chennai-Bengaluru National Highway At sriperumbudur on Saturday.
The protesters demanded to know the status of allies who were affected by food poisoning earlier this week.
According to workers, several women workers were affected due to food poisoning after having lunch at a hostel on Wednesday.
The affected workers were taken to nearby hospitals for treatment and some were admitted.
According to the workers, when asked about the health condition of their colleagues admitted in the hospital, the management did not give any proper reply.
On Friday night, women workers staged a sit-in on the highway, disrupting traffic.
The protests continued on Saturday morning and government officials are talking to the protesters.
