TMC not interested in coordination with Congress, likely to attend meeting of opposition parties on November 29

The Trinamool Congress on Saturday said it was “disappointed” in coordinating with the Congress during the upcoming winter session of Parliament, a party leader said on Saturday, but added that it will continue to work with other opposition parties on various issues related to the interest of the people. Will cooperate with the group.

She said she would “probably not attend” the meeting of opposition parties called by Trinamool Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge on November 29.

The TMC’s rebuttal to the Congress came after Kharge, the Leader of the Opposition in the Rajya Sabha, said that the oldest party would coordinate with all opposition camps, including the TMC, during the winter session.

Amid strained relations between the two, the TMC advised the Congress that it should “make proper internal coordination and organize its house”.

A senior Trinamool Congress leader who is aware of the party’s decision said, “We are not interested in coordinating with the Congress during the winter session. Congress leaders should first coordinate among themselves. They should organize their homes.” And then think about coordinating with other camps.” on condition of anonymity.

When asked whether TMC would coordinate with other opposition parties, he said, “We will take up many issues related to the interests of the people and coordinate with them. We will probably not attend the meeting of opposition parties called by Congress.” “

Speaking about the hatred of the Congress in the fight against the BJP, he said, “their leaders lack the determination to take on the saffron camp”.

TMC will hold its National Coordination Committee meeting on November 29 at the residence of West Bengal Chief Minister and party supremo Mamata Banerjee.

The TMC leader said the party would discuss various issues, including its strategy, in the winter session of Parliament.

Banerjee was unanimously elected president of the TMC parliamentary party in July.

TMC’s Rajya Sabha party leader Derek O’Brien listed the topics to be taken up by the party during the winter session, saying the issues “choose themselves”.

“Choose for yourself the issues to be taken up in the winter session of Parliament. For example, we want to repeal agricultural laws, legislation to ensure MSP, extension of tenure of ED and CBI directors, increased jurisdiction of BSF, dilution Will take up the issues of federal structure, fuel prices and privatization of the bank,” he said.

The Trinamool Congress has opened a front over the alleged failure of the Congress to fight against the BJP.

Recently, it had termed the Congress as an “incompetent and incompetent” party and said that the Mamata Banerjee-led TMC cannot be blamed for jumping ship by their leaders.

Last month, relations between the two camps reached a new level after Banerjee’s party took a dig at Rahul Gandhi’s defeat in Amethi in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, wondering whether the Congress would wipe it out via Twitter trends.

Relations between the Congress and TMC had recently turned tense after Congress mouthpiece ‘Jago Bangla’ claimed that Banerjee, not Rahul Gandhi, had emerged as the face of the opposition against Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
