TMC MP and Bengali Actor Mimi Chakraborty Tests Covid-19 Positive, Says ‘It Made Me Feel Bad’

Bengali actor-turned-politician Mimi Chakraborty on Wednesday shared on social media that she tested positive for COVID-19. Mimi revealed that she hadn’t stepped out or had any public conversations, but she got infected nonetheless. The actress, who is currently in home isolation, urged everyone to stay safe.

“I have tested positive for Covid. However, I haven’t gone out of my house or held any public conversations in the last few days. It’s got me a lot of bad people. I am taking advice from my doctor and have kept myself in home isolation. I would request everyone to take proper precautions and always wear a mask to avoid any risk. Please stay safe and wear a mask,” Mimi tweeted.

Meanwhile, in June last year, Mimi Chakraborty fell ill after being given a fake COVID vaccine. She became seriously ill at her residence, which her maid called the family doctor.

Meanwhile, West Bengal’s COVID-19 tally rose to 16,78,323 with 14,022 fresh cases on Wednesday, an increase of 4,949 over the previous day, the health department said. The positivity rate rose to 23.17 per cent from Tuesday’s 18.96 per cent, it said.

The city reported 6,170 new infections, followed by North 24 Parganas with 2,540 and Howrah with 1,280. A bulletin issued by the health department said that with 17 fresh deaths, the death toll rose to 19,827. It said that five people each have died in the city and neighboring North 24 Parganas district.
