TMC blames BJP ‘goons’ for attack on leader Subal Bhowmik’s residence in Tripura

Several people were injured in the attack on Trinamool Congress’s state unit steering committee chief Subal Bhowmik’s residence in Agartala’s Bhagwan Thakur Chaumuni area. Police and Tripura State Rifles personnel are deployed in the area.

The Trinamool Congress condemned the attack and claimed that BJP’s “goons” were behind the attack. The party has urged Tripura CM Biplab Kumar Deb to immediately arrest the culprits.

“This is the terrible situation in Tripura under the goonda raj of @BjpBiplab! While our leaders and workers are being attacked mercilessly every moment, @Tripura_Police @BJP4Tripura continues to save the attackers! Strict action from Hon’ble Supreme Court I urge you to.”, tweeted AITC.

Commenting on the incident, Bhowmik told news agency ANI, “The attack took place while we (TMC party members) were talking. It is unimaginable as it is my birth place. Some chairs and bikes were thrown during the attack. was also broken.”

Meanwhile, 15 TMC MPs will sit on a dharna in Delhi from Monday morning.

Earlier today, Tripura Police had detained TMC leader Sayoni Ghosh for questioning after a ruling BJP worker complained that he had disturbed a roadside meeting of Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb on Saturday night, according to an official. .
