In the latest tech layoff, Yahoo has announced plans to lay off 20 percent of its workforce, affecting 1,600 employees in its ad technology business. Microsoft-owned GitHub has also announced layoffs of around 10 percent of its workforce, or 300 employees, in the coming quarter. The company will vacate their offices and go completely remote once their leases expire.
