CHENNAI: Nakulan, a six-year-old male tiger at Arignar Anna Zoological Park, has fallen sick. It was reported that as the big cat was not feeding well from the fourth week of April, it was given symptomatic treatment to which the animal responded well.
However, Nakulan again stopped taking food on July 25 due to loss of appetite. He was treated symptomatically. Besides giving supporting therapy, a clinical investigation is being done to improve the tiger’s health. The zoo veterinarians are constantly monitoring Nakulan. His blood sample was tested for haemo protozoans and other diseases. However, the result turned negative.
