Bangladesh on Wednesday named three uncapped cricketers in their T20 squad for the first two matches of the three-match series against England later this month.
Batsman Tauheed Hridoy, fast bowler Rezaur Rahman Raja and left-arm spinner Tanveer Islam were included after some impressive performances in the recently held Bangladesh Premier League Twenty20 tournament.
Batsmen Shamim Hossain and Ronnie Talukdar were also recalled to the Twenty20 squad after doing well in the BPL.
Shamim played the last of his 10 T20 Internationals against Pakistan in 2021, while 32-year-old Ronnie’s only T20 International match was eight years ago in 2015 against South Africa.
Batsmen Yasir Ali, Soumya Sarkar, all-rounder Mosaddek Hossain and fast bowlers Ebadat Hossain and Shorful Islam, who were part of the Bangladesh squad for the Twenty20 World The Cup to be held in Australia in November has been ruled out.
Bangladesh is currently involved in a three-match One Day International series against England.
