Three people, including two children, were killed on Saturday when an under-construction building collapsed in Kadiri town in Andhra Pradesh’s Anantapur district. Officials said rescue operations were underway to rescue six people trapped under the rubble.
The under-construction building collapsed on two adjoining houses, leaving 15 people buried under the rubble.
Rescuers retrieved the bodies of a woman and two children. He also rescued six people.
The remaining six people were buried under the rubble and are believed to be alive.
Rescue workers from the municipality, police, fire services and other departments are trying to clear the debris and rescue those trapped.
Officials believe that the heavy rains in the area since Friday have damaged the under-construction structure, leading to the accident.
Additional Superintendent of Police Ramakrishna Prasad and Revenue Divisional Officer Venkata Reddy were supervising the rescue and relief operations.
