Three Held In Murder Of Woman, Daughter | Varanasi News – Times of India

Varanasi: The commissionerate police on Thursday claimed to have solved the murders of a woman and her daughter in Naria area on July 3 by arresting three persons, including their neighbour and two killers. The neighbour had plotted the killings following a dispute with the woman in which they had a brawl in the first week of July.
Producing the arrested accused before the reporters, additional commissioner of police Santosh Kumar Singh said that after working on the case for almost two months, a team the crime branch and Lanka police arrested Aman alias Kishan Vishwakarm and Aditya alias Atul Vishwakarma of Bhadohi near a food outlet in Lanka area of the city.
“On their tip-off, the conspirator Vijay Pal of Nariya area was also arrested while the brick and hammer used in killing of Sunita Pandey (56) and her daughter Deepika Pandey (28) inside their house were also recovered from bushes of a local primary school,” he added.
During initial interrogation, Aditya disclosed that he had once worked in the welding workshop of Pal. Despite leaving the job, Aditya frequented his shop. Pal told Aditya about his old enmity with neighbour Sunita. Pal informed Aditya that after the death of her husband Balendu Gopal Pandey, who was in government service, Sunita had received huge funds and also owned jewellery in huge quantities. Pal gave an offer to Aditya to kill Sunita to loot cash by mentioning that it will end poverty of Aditya and also ensure elimination of Pal’s enemy, he said.
Accepting Pal’s offer, Aditya called his brother Aman from Nagpur.
The additional CP said that Aman had gone to jail in Nagpur for involvement in murder and other criminal cases. Pal, Aditya and Aman finalised a plan as per which both the brothers entered the house of Sunita after scaling a wall shown by Pal on July 3 night. After killing Sunita and Deepika, they looted cash Rs one lakh and jewellery worth several lakh rupees.
He added that apart from looted articles, including two mobile phones, several gold rings and other jewellery, a NSC of Rs 20,360 was also recovered from the accused. The police also recovered Rs 12,000 while over Rs 80,000 were spent by the duo.
