Three criminals arrested after brief encounter in Panipat | Gurgaon News – Times of India

KARNAL: The crime Investigation Agency-II of Panipat police has arrested three criminals, who were involved in a murder and loot case, after a brief encounter. Two accused received bullet injuries in their legs.
Police claimed that they recovered two country made pistols and motorcycle from the possession of the accused.
The accused have been identified as Sachin alias Kuki of Rohtak, Ashok alias Pintu of Lohari in Panipat, and Dayanand of Kaithal.
Police said that during the investigation it has been revealed that they were involved in the murder case of a taxi driver, Mohit Soni on Panipat city, and looting his car in October this year. Besides, the accused were also involved in a loot incident at the liquor shop in Alupur village at gun point.
Panipat Superintendent of Police Shashank Kumar Sawan said that on Monday night, the police team got an information about the presence of the suspects, who were plotting to commit to a loot incident, in Sanoli police station area. Subsequently, the team raided the spot.
Meanwhile, the accused opened fire on the police team, which fired in retaliation. Two accused, including Sachin and Ashok sustained bullet injuries in their legs. The injured were admitted to a hospital, where their condition is stated to be stable.
The SP said that Sachin has a criminal back ground as he has been sentenced to jail in a murder case. Now, he was running on bail.
While, a case of motorcycle theft was registered against Dayanand.
Sawan said that the accused would be produced before the court to seek the police remand. The investigation is on.
