Actor, director and screenwriter, Joy Mathew has slammed actor Tini Tom over his statement of rampant use of drugs in Malayalam film cinema. They feel that when the actor is an executive member of the Association of Malayalam Movie Artistes (AMMA), his statements at an event were thoughtless and disrespectful to his colleagues. He further stressed the importance of uniqueness, which was lacking in the words of actor Tiny Tom. “When AMMA officials make allegations against other associates, it should be done with due wisdom,” he said

Talking about the availability of drugs on the sets, he said that intoxication can never help art to flourish. “A drunk person cannot act. I think one cannot act even when drunk.

Referring to the ban on Shane Nigam and Srinath Bhasi, he said that there is no ban. If you are willing to work with them then do it because it is your choice. He believes that a film is a gamble and producers cast actors because of their star value.

The ban came last month after popular Malayalam actors Shane Nigam and Srinath Bhasi were banned by The Film Employees Federation of Kerala (FEFKA) and Kerala Film Producers Association in response to several complaints about their recent inappropriate behavior at work .

As per reports, one of the allegations involved the alleged use of drugs on a movie set. Producer and head of the Kerala Film Producers Association M Ranjith claimed that Shane Nigam and Srinath Bhasi frequently used drugs during filming, causing a lot of trouble for the individual filmmakers and their crew.

This huge debate came to the fore earlier this week due to a statement made by actor Tiny Tom at an event on the use of drugs in Malayalam cinema. He said that one of the actors he was working with had lost his teeth due to excessive drug use. Due to the easy availability of drugs in the Malayalam cinema industry, his wife is also apprehensive about sending their child to this cinema industry. Reacting to this statement, actor Dhyan Srinivasan said that no one is force fed.
