Mumbai batsman Sarfaraz Khan was in red-hot form in the recently concluded Ranji Trophy season. Sarfaraz played six matches and scored 982 runs at an average of 122.75. Overall, he scored four centuries with two half-centuries in the 2021-22 season.

The youngster may be enjoying stellar form at present, but life has had its fair share of struggles.
Sarfaraz shared an emotional anecdote remembering his journey.
“When I left Mumbai and was going to UP, I played U14, U16, U19, U25 as well as Ranji Trophy for Mumbai. So we all know that blue jumbo bag in which I was stuffing all my Ranji Trophy clothes. So when I was storing that bag because we didn’t need that kit anymore, I had tears in my eyes because it was my dream to score a century in Ranji Trophy in Mumbai clothes. sportskeeda,
Sarfaraz explains that he was sad because he thought he would never represent Mumbai again. “I was emotional because I thought I would never play for Mumbai again. I even wanted my photo to appear in the newspapers where I have taken off my helmet and am showing my bat by scoring a century.
He added.

Back in the 2019-20 Ranji Trophy, Sarfaraz made a remarkable comeback. He played a brilliant innings of 301 not out against Uttar Pradesh. The innings included 30 fours and eight sixes. The match ended in a draw but Sarfaraz left his mark.
The 22-year-old batsman displayed phenomenal talent and led Mumbai to the final during the Ranji Trophy 2021-22.
In the summit clash, he scored a brilliant century against Madhya Pradesh in the first innings. He hit 13 fours and two sixes during his brilliant innings of 134 runs of 243 runs.
Later he made a significant contribution by scoring 45 runs in the second innings as well. However, his valor eventually proved irrelevant as Mumbai suffered a six-wicket defeat.
Overall Sarfaraz has played 25 first-class matches and scored 2530 runs at an average of 81.61. He has eight centuries and seven half-centuries to his name in first-class cricket.
