Indian team has created history. Team India has reached the final in the Thomas Cup badminton tournament being played in Bangkok, Thailand. The Indian team has reached the final for the first time in the history of the tournament of 73 years. Earlier, the team had reached the semi-finals in 1952, 1955 and 1979. Team India defeated Denmark 3-2 in the semi-final match. Kidambi Srikanth, HS Prannoy, Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty played key roles in India’s victory. However, Lakshya Sen suffered a defeat at the hands of World Champion Viktor Axelsen.
