Nowadays, surgeries have become a common thing. To look attractive, the youth are doing various types of plastic surgeries. According to reports, these include mostly youth from 17 to 22 years old. These young people are particularly interested in face lifting, jaw-line correction, lip lifting and other cosmetic procedures.
As per reports, the number of surgeries has increased 10 times in 5 years, and Indore has become the second city in the country where the most surgeries are being done. This also includes gender change surgery. People come from various places, including Nepal, Bhutan, Bangladesh and other countries.
As per reports, the government has also given relief in gender change surgery in Indore. The government has removed it from the category of cosmetic surgery and incorporated it under the Ayushman Bharat Yojana. There are about 30 plastic surgeons in the city who are doing almost all the procedures regarding the surgery in Indore itself. Those surgeons shared their experience of plastic surgery in changing times.
In a recent media interaction, plastic and reconstructive aesthetic surgeon Dr Sumit Jaiswal said that the trend of gender change surgery is increasing. Most surgeries are being done in Indore. Every month, 30 to 35 people come to get gender change done. People are coming to Indore from Bangladesh, Nepal, Bhutan, Dubai, and European countries. Now even the government has approved this procedure in the Ayushman Bharat scheme. Which has given them relief in expenses as well. Now is the selfie era. Due to this, youth are paying attention to the face. They are getting the jawline corrected for the photo angle.
Dr. Sachin Verma, head of the MYH plastic surgery department, said that dimple creation surgery and gynecomastia case operations are being done in MYH itself. The upper and lower lids are being done for the eyes. This is called lymphoplasty. Eyebrows are being raised, giving a youthful appearance, he added. In Indore, only 5 to 6 plastic surgeons do cancer reconstructive surgery. Plastic surgeons only do the work of correcting a cut on the hand or finger in an accident or a mark of injury on the face.
Bombay Hospital Plastic, Reconstructive, and Aesthetic Surgeon Dr Mahendra Kumar Gupta added that plastic surgery plays an important role in the reconstruction of any deformed body part due to an accident or disease like cancer or burns from fire. Cosmetic surgery is a part of plastic surgery, which includes facial beautification (rhinoplasty, hair transplant, lip and eyelid surgery) and procedures to enhance the beauty of other body parts like liposuction and fat grafting.
Among the youth, people in the 17- to 22-year-old age group and the 32- to 37-year-old age group mostly indulge in these surgeries. The city of Indore has a wide range of healthcare services in this domain.
