This is the oldest alcoholic drink in the world! , The Times of India

Mead: The Oldest Alcoholic Beverage Written by Rajko Vidrih and Janze Hreber states that the oldest archaeological evidence for the production of mead dates back to around 7000 BC. In the Neolithic village of Jiahu in northern China’s Henan province, 9,000-year-old pottery remains of alcoholic beverages were found. According to the book, archaeological data suggests that the drink consisted of wild grapes, honey and rice, the so-called wine-mead-sake, which is the oldest record of an alcoholic beverage. Later, mead was produced in ancient Egypt, Greece, the Roman Empire, and medieval Europe. (image: iStock
