Sushmita Sen recently surprised her fans with her health update. The actress revealed that she had suffered a heart attack a few days ago and is now on the road to recovery. She has started her recovery journey and is doing yoga stretching exercises after getting proper clearance from her cardiologist. The actress underwent angioplasty and a stent after one of her major arteries was blocked.

Yoga is known to help people heal and heal from major ailments, and Sushmita Sen is all set for the same. The actress took to Instagram and shared a picture of herself doing stretching exercises using a yoga wheel. In the post, Sushmita placed a yoga wheel under her lower back and stretched her body to open up the joints. In the caption she wrote, “Cleared by my cardiologist. Stretching begins! What a feeling! It’s my “Happy Holi”… How about you? I love you guys!”

Stretching should be included in the daily workout routine. It reduces the chances of injury, makes muscles more functional and increases energy. Stretching can help ease some of the pain if one has muscle stiffness from recent activity or from a muscle strain. Muscles near the injury site often contract when someone has an injury or surgery. It is possible to relieve pain and soreness by loosening these contracted muscles. One can increase flexibility by incorporating a yoga wheel into regular stretching exercises. A yoga wheel also maintains balance during asanas and helps prevent injuries.

A few days ago, Sushmita Sen shared the news of her heart attack in an Instagram post. She wrote, “Keep your heart happy and courageous, and it will stand by you when you need it most” (Wise words by my father Subir). Had a heart attack two days back. Angioplasty was done. Stents in place and most importantly, my cardiologist confirmed ‘my heart is big’ Many thanks to all for their timely assistance and constructive action, will do so in another post. This post is just to inform you (my well wishers and dear ones) the good news that all is well and I am ready to have some life again!”
