In an interview, Soha Ali Khan revealed that before entering the world of films, she worked in the corporate sector. She said, “I was born into a famous family. Since childhood, I knew my mother and brother were both actors, but I wanted to do something different so that it did not feel like I was copying them or taking the easy route. So, I started to work in the corporate sector. I am the first member of my family to have a degree.”
Talking about her salary, the actress mentioned that she got a package of Rs 2 lakh a year. She said, “I got Rs 2 lakh a year. It was a post-graduate salary and I was paying Rs 17,000 rent a month in Mumbai at the time. I don’t know your impression of the royal families but there is not a lot of cash.”
After facing some financial constraints, she decided to switch her career. Soha mentioned that at first, she compared her salary with the salary she was offered for a film. After doing simple maths, she realised that she could earn much more than she would get in her corporate job. Soha added that she always wanted to make her own choices. “My parents invested heavily in my education so that I can make my own choices,” she said. Soha also revealed that she kept the decision to join film hidden from her family and started to work in the industry. According to reports, Soha Ali Khan has a net worth of Rs 166 crore.
