‘Third wave of Kovid-19 likely to arrive in October, will be less dangerous’: IIT Kanpur

Covid-19 third wave: The second wave of the Covid-19 virus caused irreparable damage. What happened a few months ago scared people and caused shared trauma. People had seen their loved ones die while struggling to get life-saving oxygen cylinders. Meanwhile, the IIT Kanpur professor has predicted a positive situation. IIT Professor Manindra Agarwal has claimed that according to the ‘formula’ model of Kovid-19, the third wave will be less deadly than the second wave. He has expressed the possibility of a third wave between October-November.

Professor Aggarwal said that he has done a lot of calculations through his model in the last one month to estimate the third wave. From their findings it has come to the fore that the third wave is not going to be as dangerous as the second wave. They have drawn their conclusions based on 3 scenarios. If a new variant arrives by the end of August, which is going to spread faster than the delta variant, then the third wave will come in the time of October-November. The third wave will be compared to the first wave.

5-20% of people lose their immunity – Professor

The professor said that it is unlikely that there will be a third wave in India due to the presence of the delta variant. If a new variant comes to India, which is going to spread faster than the Delta variant, it will spread to some extent. He has taken into account two things in his calculations. The first is the reduced immunity of the cured population. According to some studies done last year, 5 to 20% of people lose their immunity. In such a situation, there is a possibility of getting infected again.
