New Delhi: ‘Bunty Aur Babli 2’ released in theaters on November 19, 2021. Starring Rani Mukerji, Saif Ali Khan, Siddhant Chaturvedi and Sharvari Wagh in lead roles, the film is a sequel to the 2005 film Bunty Aur Babli. Abhishek Bachchan and Rani Mukerji played the lead roles in the film and won hearts as Bunty and Babli respectively.
However, according to several media reports, things are not going well between Abhishek Bachchan and Aditya Chopra due to which Saif Ali Khan has stepped into the shoes of the ‘Bob Biswas’ actor for ‘Bunty Aur Babli 2’.
Saif Ali Khan revealed how he replaced Abhishek Bachchan for the role of Bunty in ‘Bunty Aur Babli 2’ during an interaction with the media portal. The ‘Vikram Vedha’ actor was quoted by News18 as saying, “To be honest, Adi called and said, ‘Things are not working out and we are not able to take the story forward with the original cast. Will you be interested in being a part of this film after adjusting? And I said yes because he is producing the film and he knew what he wanted to do with the franchise and once he knew he was not going to go one way, he took the other route. And I have a very practical approach towards it.”
‘Bunty Aur Babli 2’ also marks the reunion of Saif Ali Khan with Rani Mukerji after a long 13 years on screen. They were considered as one of the most iconic pairings of the film industry and their sizzling chemistry set the screens on fire. Saif and Rani were last seen together in the 2008 film ‘Thoda Pyaar Thoda Magic’. Their pairing in ‘Hum Tum’ was also well liked by the audience.
‘Bunty Aur Babli 2’ is currently running in theaters and reportedly the film is doing moderate business.
