Releasing the white paper on completion of one year of the fall of his PTI government, Imran Khan said that he had earlier alleged that the US was behind his downfall, but it was the present Pakistan government which conspired against him.

Pressuring Pakistan’s government to hold elections, former Prime Minister and current Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan said that his supporters would launch street demonstrations.

Khan alleged that some people wanted to remove him from the path. “These people wanted to kill me like Murtaza Bhutto (Pakistani politician). They feared that my popularity would increase if I was put in jail, so they wanted to kill me.

Releasing the white paper on completion of one year of the fall of his PTI government, Khan said that he had earlier alleged that the US was behind his downfall, but it was the current Pakistan government which conspired against him.

He also said that the foreign funding case against him is over, so Tosha Khana’s case will also be over.

Dawn said that a journalist had inquired about the gifts received by the former PM, but his government refused to give any information under the Right to Information Act. Trouble started when the PML-N’s coalition government filed a case against Khan in August 2022 for not disclosing information about the gifts after the journalist filed the case.

Meanwhile, Khan praised India’s foreign policy and said that Pakistan wanted “cheap Russian crude like India’s”, but was not able to do so because his government had fallen.

Imran Khan said in a video message, ‘We wanted to get cheap Russian crude oil like India, but it could not happen, because unfortunately my government fell due to no-confidence motion.’

However, Pakistan’s Minister of State for Petroleum Mussadiq Malik had said in April that the first consignment of cheap oil from Russia would reach Pakistan next month. The minister said the deal with Moscow had been finalized, adding, “The first consignment will reach next month via a cargo.”
