Chhattisgarh: Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on Wednesday accused the Modi government of stoking the hijab controversy in Karnataka. Taking a dig at the BJP party after it lost the Karnataka battle, Baghel said the saffron party “wants to create terrorists and create violence”. He also took a dig at the ED, saying the federal agency was acting like a traffic police and issuing notices to people at random.
He said, “They (BJP) want to make extremists and create violence…They brought the hijab controversy in Karnataka. They are trying to spread violence wherever they go. They are trying to do something other than conversion and communalism.” Don’t know. They’ll keep it going.” ..” Baghel said.

He also criticized the Enforcement Directorate (ED) for its action in two money laundering cases in the state. Lashing out at the ED, he said the federal agency was acting like a traffic police and issuing notices to people at random.
Talking to reporters at Helipad Police Line, Baghel said that the opposition BJP has no issue left and its only agenda is to defame the state government.
A day earlier, the Supreme Court asked the ED not to create an “atmosphere of fear” after the Chhattisgarh government alleged that the probe agency was “going haywire” and tried to implicate CM Baghel in an alleged money laundering case involving Rs. “(Advocate) Kapil Sibal said in the court that the ED is doing these things in view of the upcoming elections,” Baghel said.
