PM Modi took a veiled dig at opposition saying that some people are filled with negativity targeting India’s unity and integrity and want to divide the country.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday accused the opposition of insulting and making fun of him during his first 100 days as prime minister in third tenure. He said that instead of responding to the insult, he focussed on completing developmental works on agenda in the 100 days.

While addressing a gathering at a launch event in Gujarat’s Ahmedabad, the prime minister said that in the first 100 days of the third BJP-led central government, work has commenced on projects worth Rs 15 lakh crore.

“In first 100 days of my third term, they (opposition) made fun of me and insulted me. I decided not to respond to any insult but to ensure completing the govt’s agenda for 100 days,” he said.

He further took a veiled dig at opposition saying that some people are filled with negativity targeting India’s unity and integrity and want to divide the country.

PM Modi assured the people that the government is focused on improving people’s lives.

“During the Lok Sabha elections, I guaranteed the countrymen that unprecedented decisions would be taken in the first 100 days of my third term. In the last 100 days, I spared no effort to fulfil the agenda of 100 days. I left no stone unturned in India and abroad. You people have sent me to Delhi by making me take a pledge to put the nation first. I have not seen day and night in the last 100 days. Put in all efforts to complete the 100-day agenda. Be it in the country or abroad, whatever efforts were to be made, they were made; no stone was left unturned. During these 100 days, work has commenced on projects worth Rs 15 lakh crore. I promised during the elections to construct 3 crore new houses, and we are making rapid progress on this. Whether it’s in villages or cities, we are focused on improving people’s lives.”

The prime minister also greeted and thanked the public for giving him the opportunity to serve the country for the third consecutive time.

“I have come here for the first time after taking oath as a Prime Minister for the third term…You all have shown and given massive love and support to me…This is my birthplace and I am grateful that you have come here to bless me…After 60 years the country took a decision and created history. They choose the same government to serve the country for the third term…This is a big event of Democracy of the country…” he added.

He further acknowledged the recent challenges due to heavy rainfall, saying, “We saw massive rainfall recently, resulting in the loss of lives and property damage. The state and central governments are working tirelessly to ease the pain of those affected. For those in hospitals, I wish a speedy recovery. This is my first visit to Gujarat after winning a third term. Gujarat is my janbhoomi, and it has taught me the lessons of life. When a son returns to his roots and receives blessings from his people, it gives him renewed energy.”
