NS Indian Rail It has been decided to restart several passenger trains which were canceled to break the COVID-19 chain. Apart from this, the Railways has also decided to revise the arrival and departure timings of the currently running passenger trains.
A senior official of the Indian Railways told the media that the arrival and departure timings of passenger trains are being rescheduled for smooth movement of trains on all routes. The official said that the Indian Railways has decided to change the timing of arrival and departure as well as rerouting of some trains.
According to the latest notification of Indian Railways, the arrival and departure timings of three pairs of passenger trains running in Northern Railway will be changed.
A senior Northern Railway official said, “The trains will run as per the new timetable.”
Northern Railway Chief Public Relations Officer Deepak Kumar told the media that the operating timing of train number 20503/02504 Dibrugarh-New Delhi-Dibrugarh Weekly Rajdhani Express will now be daily from both the sides. “Earlier, the Dibrugarh-New Delhi-Dibrugarh Rajdhani Express operated once a week,” Kumar said.
The Chief Public Relations Officer further said that Indian Railways has increased the destination of two pairs of trains with the new timetable. “Train number 54769/54770 Tilak Bridge-Rohtak-Tilak Bridge passenger train will be extended from Tilak Bridge to Bhiwani and train number 54423/54424 Delhi Jn-Bhiwani-Delhi Junction passenger train will be extended from Bhiwani to Hisar.” Kumar said.
Another senior Indian Railways official said that the railways is yet to issue a circular on timetable and change of destination.
According to the official, the change in timetable and destination order comes in October, but preparations for making the changes are made from September. “No specific date has been fixed as to when the change in timetable and destination will come into effect,” the official said.
