Theft in the office of MAA President Manchu Vishnu, valuable equipment missing

The theft was reported on Sunday at the office of Movie Artists Association (MAA) president Manchu Vishnu in Film Nagar, Hyderabad. In his office, the actor had reportedly preserved some valuable pieces of hairdressing equipment. Vishnu along with his manager Sanjay has complained to the police about the theft. He mentioned in his complaint that valuables were missing from the Manchu office. Police officers are probing the matter.

According to reports, Sanjay had informed the police officials that a former Manchu barber was missing after the robbery incident. He has claimed that the same barber could be behind the incident.

According to a report in news agency IANS, Sanjay told the police, “We suspect that Naga Srinu, a former barber, has quarreled with hairdressing equipment, which is worth around Rs 5 lakh.”

Sanjay has requested the police officials to nab the absconding barber at the earliest. Following the complaint, the police have already registered a case under the relevant charges of the IPC Act. The police have said that they have taken the matter into their own hands and will visit the spot for further investigation into the incident.

He said that the CCTV footage of the area where the office is located would be examined. Actor Manchu has not issued any statement on this incident.

In October last year, Manchu won the post of MAA president in a close election against Prakash Raj, who later resigned from the primary membership of the MAA, the apex body of the Telugu film industry.

During the election campaign, Vishnu Manchu made several promises including job security, health insurance and financial assistance to needy Telugu actors.

Manchu starred in the 2003 Telugu action film Vishnu, for which he won the Filmfare Best Male Debut.
