The US has warned Russia that it may use bioweapons in Ukraine, but did it help Ukraine build such a lab?

The United States warned on Wednesday that Russia could launch a false flag campaign using chemical and biological weapons, while denying that the US supports a bio-weapons program in Ukraine. The Chinese Foreign Ministry claimed in a tweet earlier this month that Ukraine has more than 20 US laboratories for biological military activities. This claim was then supported by the Russians.

Russian news agency TASS claimed that such a lab were built on the borders of Russia.

Journalist Glenn Greenwald, who worked with ex-CIA contractor Edward Snowden while working with the Guardian news agency and won a Pulitzer for his reporting on the US National Security Agency. The Substack site reported that Victoria Nuland Partly acknowledged that the allegations made by Russia may be partially true.

They wrote that Nuland ‘the longtime in charge of US policy in Ukraine testified before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee on Monday and strongly suggested that such claims are at least partially true.’

Greenwald pointed to the direction of talks between Senators Marco Rubio and Victoria Nuland where the Florida senator asked if Ukraine had biological weapons. “Does Ukraine have chemical or biological weapons?” Rubio asked. To which Nuland replied, “Ukraine has biological research facilities. We are actually quite concerned now that the Russian military, the Russian forces are trying to gain control. We are working with Ukrainians to get those research materials.” How can we prevent it from falling into the hands of the Russian army,” Nuland said. Greenwald also pointed out that such admixture means those facilities may not be benign.

Greenwald also writes that because of US fears that the Russian military might have access to such research, it is speculated that “either advanced biological weapons or dual-use “research” that has the potential to become a weapon” is the result of those research. facilities may be present.

In his article ‘Victoria Nuland: “Biological Research Facilities in Ukraine,” Concerned Russia May Siege Them’, Greenwald reported that the US claimed until last year that it was working with Ukraine. Its embassy in Kyiv said the two countries were working on one. Biological Hazard Reduction Program (BTRP), The Ukrainian Ministry of Health, the State Service of Ukraine for Food Safety and Consumer Protection, the National Academy of Agricultural Sciences and the Ministry of Defense are executive agents of the BTRP.

The embassy’s page still live also says that BTRP built laboratories in Odessa and Kyiv.

Earlier, while writing for News18, top diplomat Kanwal Sibal in his article ‘Blinded by Putin’s hatred of Russia, the West has made Zelensky a hero – Ukraine is paying the price’ also pointed to Nuland’s role in the Euromaidan protests, which ousted former pro-Ukrainian Kremlin president Viktor Yanukovich and how it angered Russia. Greenwald also wrote in the piece that Nuland was instrumental in the Euromaidan protests, which some observers felt were a coup.

The journalist also reported that Marco Rubio threw “a life raft” at Nuland because his “part-entry” of such facilities could threaten the Biden administration’s message to a world where Russia is the villain.
