Kalyan: In another incident, an undertrial prisoner allegedly threw slippers at the district and session. court judge at Welfare Court. Fortunately, the sandal did not hit Judge A A Sheikh and fell near the chair.
The accused Roshan Ghorpade was allegedly involved in a murder case and was lodged in Aadharwadi jail in Kalyan. The accused was annoyed as he did not appear in the court on time.
The incident happened on Wednesday afternoon when Gorfade was produced before A Sheikh District and Sessions Judge-3.
This is the second such incident of attack on judges by undertrials in the court premises, due to which advocates have demanded deployment of additional police force inside the court premises.
Tanaji Wagh, Sub Inspector of Police Mahatma Phule police The station probing the matter said, “When the accused was about to leave the court room after the hearing, he took off his sandal and threw it at the judge.” Fortunately, the slipper did not hit the judicial officer and fell near his chair.
