The recently released trailer of Petromax, starring Satish Ninasam and Haripriya in lead roles, is a laughing riot. However, it is getting mixed response from the audience. According to some media reports, it has received praise from those who enjoy adult comedy, while some said that films like Petromax cannot be watched with family and will be the downfall of the Kannada film industry.
Combining obscenity and philosophy, it revolves around the lives of four orphans who find affection in an older woman. Apart from Satish Ninasam and Haripriya, the film also stars Nagabhushan, Padmaja Rao, Karuna Ram, Arun Kumar, Veena Sundar Vijayalakshmi Singh, Sudha Belavadi, Hema Dutt, Mimicry Gopi, Suman Ranganath, and Achyut Kumar.
Haripriya has a bold avatar in the film. Petromax is the actress’ second collaboration with film director Vijayprasad, while this is her first project with Satish. Haripriya and Vijayprasad had earlier come together for Neer Dos, in which she played the role of a commercial sex worker.
Jointly operated by Satish Picture House, Studio 18 and Petromax Pictures, Petromax stars Anoop Seelin as music director and Niranjan Babu as cinematographer.
Kannada filmmaker Vijayprasad, who is known for adding classic flavor to his films and is currently seen as the king of adult comedy in the Kannada film industry, has given two films and two more are lined up for release. Going by the trailers, it is being said that the director’s upcoming films Petromax and Thotapuri are no less different than his Neer Dooj which is said to have an overdose of adult comedy.
The director’s Thotapuri stars Jaggesh and Aditi Prabhudheva, and will unfold in a two-part series.
