Relations between the BJP and its ruling alliance partner JD(U) in Bihar are turning sour by the day as leaders are doing business on social media platforms and threatening to part ways.

BJP OBC wing national general secretary Nikhil Anand took a dig at JD(U), tweeting: “Small groups cannot understand the working style of big parties. They are not clear about their own identity they are a small group Or a larger group. The day is not far when they will have to look for a new place.”

Anand’s statement meant that the BJP, which has 74 seats in the Bihar assembly, has appointed Nitish Kumar-led JD(U) to run the government in the state, while the latter has only 45 seats. However, he refrained from naming any leader in his tweet.

JD(U)’s youngest spokesperson Abhishek Jha said in a quick reply: “@NikhilAnand ji: People should make statements according to their stature. If you spit in the sky, it falls on you. Please clean it up. Do it. May God help you.”

Jha had hit out at BJP state president Sanjay Agarwal on January 12, when he questioned his visit to a village in West Champaran to console family members who lost their loved ones in the spurious liquor tragedy.

After the liquor tragedy in the chief minister’s district Nalanda on January 15 that claimed 13 lives, state BJP president Sanjay Jaiswal had slammed the Nitish Kumar government for the failure of his favorite project, the liquor ban in the state. He said that the nexus of senior officials, police and mafia was responsible for the failure of prohibition in the state.
