The Railway Men: R. Madhavan, Babil Khan to star in YRF’s first OTT project

Actor R. Madhavan, Kay Kay Menon, Divyendu Sharma and late actor Irrfan Khan’s son Babil will star in Yash Raj Films’ (YRF) first OTT series titled ‘The Railway Men’, a tribute to the unsung heroes. 1984 Bhopal gas tragedy. As a salute to those who saved hundreds of lives, YRF announced the project on the same day the tragedy happened 37 years ago in Bhopal. YRF’s streaming content production business will be called YRF Entertainment and will brainstorm five major projects to start within its first year.

Akshay Vidhani, Senior Vice President, Yash Raj Films said: “The Bhopal Gas Tragedy is the worst industrial disaster in the world that has affected people since the tragedy that struck the city 37 years ago. At YRF, we are constantly striving to develop the best. There are compelling stories for the audience and it is our tribute to the unsung heroes of the tragedy who, despite saving thousands of lives on that fateful day, are still unknown to people around the world.”

The first major project to hit the floors with the banner ‘The Railway Men’ is a tribute to the railway workers at Bhopal station.

Directed by debutant Shiv Rawail, ‘The Railway Men’ is being directed by Aditya Chopra. Shiva will begin the proceedings at YRF Entertainment with his content-forward one-season limited series about the resilience of the human spirit in the face of disaster.

In ‘The Railway Men’ R. Madhavan, Kay Kay Menon, Divyendu Sharma and Babil Khan are brilliant actors. These four actors drive the show and the company will also announce the presence of many more powerful actors in the times to come.

The shooting of ‘The Railway Men’ began on December 1.

YRF Entertainment’s ‘The Railway Men’ will stream on December 2, 2022.
