Jhansi: A curtain raising event was organized by the White Tiger Division of the Indian Army Jhansi on Wednesday as part of the nationwide campaign of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav On completion of 75 years of India’s independence.
It depicts the history of Indian freedom struggle through songs, musical skits and dance performances by school children and NCC cadets.
The event, which took place at the Deendayal Auditorium around the historic Jhansi Fort, included a performance of patriotic tunes by an army pipe band, which enthralled the audience with the patriotic fervor and spirit.
Major General Vipul Singhal, General Officer Commanding, White Tiger Division, Jhansi DM Andra Vamsi and other officers of Army and Civil Administration were also present during the programme.
The program culminated with honoring gallantry award winners and their families as a token of gratitude for their sacrifices for the nation. A series of webinars and lectures including ‘Know your Army’ exhibition were organized to spread awareness about the Armed Forces.
“As part of the Amrit Mahotsav initiative, the White Tiger Division of the Indian Army has taken various initiatives in Jhansi for the local population and ex-servicemen,” said one of the army event organizers.
