New Delhi: According to news agency ANI, India recorded 5,753 omicron positive cases in the last 24 hours, which is 4.83 per cent higher than yesterday. The fresh Covid-19 cases reported in the last 24 hours are 2,64,202 which is 6.7 per cent more than yesterday.

With this, the active caseload in India has gone up to 12,72,073. The daily positivity rate is 14.78 percent. There have been 1,09,345 recoveries in the last 24 hours as the recovery rate is 95.20 percent.

The number of deaths recorded in the last 24 hours is 315, taking the total death toll since the start of the pandemic to 4,85,350.

According to news agency PTI, no new case has been registered in Maharashtra in the last 24 hours. omicron Cases, however, were 46,406 recorded Covid-19 cases including 36 deaths. Of these, 13,702 cases were from Mumbai only, in which 6 new deaths were reported.

The measures adopted by the state include a night curfew, a weekend lockdown, a ban on social gatherings and a ban on traveling together of four or more people.

As the third Covid-19 wave sweeps across the country, the government has started giving booster doses to frontline workers and elderly people with comorbidities. Vaccination campaign for adolescents in the age group of 15 to 18 years has also started.
