LUCKNOW: The count of fresh Covid-19 cases fell to 11 on Monday, with only 194 active cases under treatment. Uttar Pradesh.
A government spokesperson said cases were reported from only eight districts of UP, with Lucknow reporting the highest number of cases. The state capital also currently has the highest number of 27 active cases. There are 31 districts where not a single one was active on Monday. The recovery rate in UP has also gone up to 98.7%.
“There were 15 recoveries on Monday too, reducing the active cases to four. Over 1.82 lakh tests were conducted across the state. Meanwhile, the fresh cases have declined by over 38,000 from 38,055 on April 24. The state has been able to limit the daily Covid case count to below 50 for 40 consecutive days,” the spokesperson said.
He said the daily test positivity rate in the state has come down from a high of over 16.84% in April this year to less than 0.01% in April, when the second wave peaked. “Test positivity rate is the percentage of samples that test positive out of the total number of samples evaluated. In terms of low daily positivity rate, UP is showing a much better recovery. This is the result of prompt measures, meticulous planning, vigilance and an aggressive approach by the state government to contain the virus,” he said.
