The body of Trilochan Singh Wazir, a former member of the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Council and National Conference (NC) leader, was found in his flat in West Delhi’s Basai Darapur area. A police officer said the body of the 67-year-old was “decomposed”.
Police have yet to officially comment on the cause of death. Shocked by the sudden demise of Wazir, former Chief Minister and NC leader Omar Abdullah said that they had met in Jammu only a few days back.
“Shocked by the terrible news of the sudden death of my colleague, Sardar TS Wazir, a former member of the Legislative Council. Just a few days back we were sitting together in Jammu and not realizing that I would meet him for the last time. May his soul rest in peace,” he tweeted.
“The cause of death is still unknown. The body is yet to be medically examined. Wazir lived in a rented house named Harpreet. We are trying to trace Harpreet for interrogation. Deputy Commissioner of Police (West) Urvija Goyal said that prima facie it cannot comment on the cause of death.
