‘The Lord of the Rings’ web-series to release in 2022 – Times of India

Here’s some good news for ‘The Lord of the Rings’ fans! The highly anticipated ‘The Lord of the Rings’ web-series will release in September 2022, with new episodes every week, taking viewers on a new epic journey through Middle Earth.

The upcoming epic drama is said to be based on the second era in the history of Middle-earth by author JRR Tolkien. Although plot details have not been disclosed, the story is said to take place thousands of years before the events of The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit books.

PTI reports that ‘The Lord of the Rings’ web-series is being led by showrunners and executive producers JD Payne and Patrick McKay. Both said that working on the series has been the “adventure of a lifetime”.

Head of the ensemble are Cynthia Addai-Robinson, Robert Aramayo, Owen Arthur, Maxim Baldry, Nazanin Boniadi, Morpheid Clark, Ismail Cruz Cordova, Charles Edwards, Tristan Gravell and Sir Lenny Henry … actors Emma Horvath, Markella Cavenagh, Joseph Mawley, Tyro Muhafidin, Sofia Nomvat, Lloyd Owen, Megan Richards, Dylan Smith, Charlie Vickers, Leon Wadham, Benjamin Walker, Daniel Weyman and Sara Zwangobani round out the cast,’ according to PTI.

‘The Lord of the Rings’ web-series will be available on a popular streaming site in over 240 territories next year.
