The last Jew in Afghanistan on his way to the United States – report

Last Jew in Afghanistan, zabulon simantovi, is leaving Afghanistan and is on its way to the United States, Ami magazine reported on Tuesday.

Journalist Shloim Zionas reportedly flew to Kabul to assist Simantov in his departure from Afghanistan.

According to journalist Zvika Klein, Simantov had previously claimed that he would not leave Afghanistan, and was “not interested” in moving to the United States.

He said, “I will not leave my house. If I had gone, there would have been no one to maintain the synagogue.”

Simantov faced backlash after it emerged that he was refusing his wife. Get, a Jewish divorce document, for many years.

Attempts have been made to assist his Israeli wife over the years, although he has yet to agree to divorce her. Rabbi Pinchus Goldschmidt, the chief rabbi of Moscow, wrote on Twitter that he had offered to go to Afghanistan to seek a divorce but Simantov refused.
