Former Indian cricketer Virender Sehwag had reached Kapil Sharma show on an episode of the weekend and revealed some lesser-known facts about his life and sports career. He shared the stage with former teammate Mohammad Kaif.

The duo narrated many interesting stories from their careers such as how Sourav Ganguly is the most superstitious cricketer and why Sachin Tendulkar is considered a genius. Sehwag also revealed that since he was constantly commenting on the game, Sachin used to offer him a banana so that he would remain silent for so long.

Interestingly, Sehwag also recalled being pushed inside the dressing room by former Team India coach John Wright. He said, “I was getting out for the whole series playing stupid shots and the coach had warned about it before playing against Sri Lanka at the Oval. We were chasing 200 and he told him that I should not make such mistakes again. I agreed but got out again. In the dressing room, Wright confronted me and pushed me. I called the team manager and asked for a homecoming ticket saying that I cannot be treated like this. He explained to Wright how much I am loved in India and what would happen if it fell out.”

Talking about Sachin Tendulkar, Sehwag shared an incident in which he predicted the outcome of a ball before it was bowled, “Sachin Tendulkar was dismissed. He said that I saw (the ball) in the outswing and then it came in. So, it was not my fault, the balls were exchanged. It wasn’t even an excuse, it was a real reason.”

Sehwag further added how Sachin’s predictions were really eye-opening, “I said that only a God can see, Tendulkar himself is God. More so, because it has never happened in our lives.”

Sehwag shared that he was scared to face two bowlers: Muttiah Muralitharan and Shoaib Akhtar.
