New Delhi: Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and many Indians Premier League (IPL) Teams remember India’s historic first World Cup victory West Indies 38 years ago on this day.
BCCI tweeted, “#This day in 1983: A historic day for Indian cricket as @therealkapildev led #TeamIndia won the World Cup trophy.”

Indian Premier League Teams – Royal Challengers Bangalore, Rajasthan RoyalsSunrisers Hyderabad, Chennai Super Kings, and Delhi Capitals also remembered the historic day when Kapil Dev-led India beat two-time winners West Indies by 43 runs.
